Blog FAQ

What is a blog?

A blog is a diary on the web in reverse chronological order. We update ours almost every day with links to news stories surrounding any issues related to UCLA football, basketball or anything UCLA in general that we care about. You are free to come on by and leave comments, thoughts, and participate in a discussion that we feel is vital to the best interest of the greatest public university of the World.

Who posts on this blog?

The people who write the front-page 'posts' are UCLA alums and students who are Bruin football/hoopoholics. Anyone is free to comment in the comment area off the main page, as long as you register a username and adhere to our community rules.

How do I post a comment to a story?

You have to register with blogger (http://www.blogger.com/comment.g?blogID=8894211&postID=110021323117170484) to post comments.

To post a comment: find the blog-entry you wish to respond to, and then click on “comment.” Simply scroll down the post and click on "Post a comment" near the bottom of post. This will open a new comment box. Put the body of your comment in the large box. Use any html formatting you want to.

What are the community rules?

This is a Bruin sports community. There are real people behind the online aliases. At FKD we welcome all perspectives, so long as you are civil and respectful to the other users on the blog. However, we are not going to tolerate any kind of hanky panky from Trojans. We want to make sure that this is a civil place where real discussion can occur, and to that end, we will delete comments that are profane, racist, or excessively boorish. There are ample places on the internets for heated partisanized name-calling - this is not one of them. We reserve the right to delete any comment, and to prohibit you from commenting on this site, if we feel you have broached this policy. Usually we will give users who violate this policy warning, and may shut down threads that become excessively heated.

We love the work we do, and want to share it with a larger UCLA community, and take in lots of different perspectives. We know that discussions can are sometimes, er, spirited, and expect a heated tone from time to time. Mostly, we expect people to treat others as they would like to be treated.

If you can live by these rules, welcome aboard.

Q: Who are you?
A: FKD is composed of UCLA football fans. Concerned ones at that.

Q: No really, who are you? We would like to call, interview, contact, or otherwise generally speak to you/harrass you.
A: At this time, we are not going fully public. Some might consider this cowardly, or discount the opinions expressed by FKD as a result of this decision. At the appropriate time, all will be revealed. Mwahahaha

Q: Why do you hate Karl Dorrell?
A: We don't. We just think he should be fired.

Q: Why do you think Karl Dorrell should be fired?
A: In short, he never should have been hired. He was not fully qualified, and there were better, more qualified candidates. However, given that he was hired, at this point, we at FKD feel that he has given us every reason to believe his tenure as UCLA's head football coach will not be a successful one. We prefer that he be fired as soon as possible, and a capable replacement be found as quickly as possible.

Welcome to Fire Karl Dorrell

First, I'm sure Karl Dorrell is a very nice man. By all accounts he is. But that does not change the fact that he should be fired. In all fairness, he probably should never have been hired, so it's not entirely fair to blame Coach Dorrell's failures entirely on him. However, his short tenure has proven unsuccessful, and he is unlikely to be successful. If the current state of affairs is allowed to continue, UCLA's football program will descend from its current state of mediocrity to, well, we don't want to imagine. Much more coming soon.
